Andrea D'Ovidio, LPC

is a Licensed Professional Counselor who received his Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Bologna, Italy.

 

Andrea has been working as a counselor since 2017. He has worked in the higher level of care program at Stress Care of New Jersey, and as an individual and group counselor for the Community YMCA. In these settings he worked with adults struggling with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, personality disorders, psychosis, and substance abuse.

He works with adults who need help healing from histories of trauma, abuse, or neglect, as well as those dealing with eating disorders, OCD, LGBTQ+ issues, addiction, anxiety, and depression.

 

Andrea’s approach to therapy combines a client centered approach with elements form EMDR, CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and solution focused therapy. His demeanor is patient, nonjudgmental, and empathetic. He can teach techniques and tools for emotional regulation that can help deal with high stress situations. He often uses humor to connect with clients, so don’t be surprised if you find yourself laughing even during a discussion of difficult topics.
