Nilaja Sanders, LAC, NCC

is a Licensed Associate Counselor who received her Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Psychology, as well as, a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is Nationally Certified in Counseling. She has over seven years of experience in a therapeutic setting and at least three years working in the field as a behaviorist. Nilaja has worked as an academic professional being a Kindergarten Teacher and a Direct Care Support Specialist. She has worked with various organizations, including Catholic Charities, Family Support Organization, Spectrum Consulting, Capitol Care, Omni Health Care, Effective School Solutions and several Care Management Organizations. At Resolution Point, she counsels Individuals, Couples and Families. She enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults. Although she is competent in multiple disorders, her specializations include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Gender Identity Disorder, ADHD, Conduct Disorder, Prolonged Grief Disorder, Anxiety and Trauma based disorders, Occupational Issues, Crisis Intervention, Depression, Developmental/Physical Disabilities Interpersonal Violence, Eating Disorders, LGBTQ+ concerns, Learning Disabilities, Stress Management, Parenting concerns, Personality Disorders. 

 

Nilaja enjoys working with individuals and families to navigate the challenges of life, whether they are personal or social. Most client may describe her as having a down-to-earth nature, sense of humor, and a personable demeanor. Nilaja caters her approach to each client’s individual therapeutic needs. She prides herself in offering an eclectic approach, utilizing various theoretical models including Psychodynamic, Person-Centered, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Culturally Sensitive Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Imago Relationship Therapy, Marriage and Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. She is also certified in Intimate Partner Violence Counseling.
