Jennifer Acevedo, LAC

is a Licensed Associate Counselor who acquired a Bachelor’s degree rom John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. She has over 9 years of experience in the field of mental health, social work, and case management. Her expertise included working with adolescent and adult populations, as well as families. She has worked with the following: Anxiety, Conduct Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Depression, Life Management/Transitions, and Stress Management issues. Jennifer uses various modalities such as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Structural Family Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Nurtured Heart, and Behavior Modification. Jennifer is dedicated to empowering her clients to discover that their progress and goals are achievable through vulnerability and personal effort. Jennifer’s goal as a counselor is to provide clients with a safe environment where they can explore their primary interests, develop goals, and utilize their strengths and assets to help overcome challenges.
