Brian Nowack, LCSW
is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received his Masters in Social Work from Yeshiva University - Wurzweiler School of Social Work in 1998. Over the last 24+ years of being in the field, he has worked in various diverse settings such as an in-home family therapist for families with children ages 5-12, a partial hospital program for children and adolescents, a child study team case manager for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, a clinician at a special education school, and a telephonic crisis and assessments counselor. He has extensive experience in working with children and adolescents who are struggling with depression, anxiety, school avoidance, defiance, and symptoms of ADHD. He also works with adolescents and adults who identify as LGBTQ+.
In his clinical practice, Brian incorporates concepts and skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-based techniques, Structural Family Therapy, and also tailors treatment modalities to meet the specific needs and goals of the individual. Brian is also a Certified Advanced Trainer and one of 20 globally Certified Mentors in the Nurtured Heart Approach. The Nurtured Heart Approach (NHA) is described as a means to support and nourish relationships whether it is being applied to children or adults. It focuses on the relationship between the child/student and the significant adult to energize positive, build inner wealth and capability in each, and diminish any attention or energy to negative choices. Brian is known for combining his experience, authenticity, and sense of humor to help bring out the best in each child, adolescent, and adult.
